The Winter Olympics have been raging on for almost a week now. Canada as a whole is doing fantastic! But the only sport that anyone cares about didn't go so well...

Today the men's hockey team lost to Russia, and are out of contention for a medal. And you know what? I really don't give half a damn. At the office we have a tv and satellite so we could watch the game.
Here was the general dialog of the people here watching the game:

*start of game* 'This is going to be a great game! Canada and Russia always play an exciting game'

1st period 'Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz'

2nd period 'Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...dammit Pronger, stop giving away the puck!'

3rd period McCabe gives up puck, Brodeur makes incredible save. Iginla tries to beat 4 Russians, gives away puck, Brodeur makes incredible save. Bertuzzi takes 15th retarded penalty of tournament, Russia scores easy goal.
1 minute left, Rob Blake takes a Sunday skate around the net without a care in the world, gives puck away. Game over.

This summed up every game Canada played. I may have been heartbroken if they were playing well, and just lost today by some fluke. But they sucked for a full week before, so this is no suprise. Meh.

At least I can say that there were only 2 forwards who looked like they were trying, and one was Edmonton Oiler's own Ryan Smyth. Pat Quinn (head coach, top dumbass, don't get me started about him) played him about 5 minutes per game, and all Smyth did was pour his heart out the entire time. The other was Martin St. Louis, all 5 foot nothing of him, doing the same as Smyth, getting the same playing time. Brutal.


On the other hand, Canada is absolutely kicking ass in everything else. We already have 18 medals, which is a record for Canada. Speed skating, cross country skiing, bobsled, moguls, skeleton - medals in all of them.

Therefore, I am giving Team Canada a grade of B+. I would give them an A, but the clothing The Bay made for the team is hideous, and looks DO count.
