Hope everyone had a great Canada Day. Nadu and I enjoyed our first weekend of rest in about 2 months. My buddies went camping about 45 minutes out of town for some 'relaxing time' ie. drinking till we don't feel feelings no more. But I declined to get some downtime here.

We didn't do much today...the usual rounds around town buying some stuff...paint for the fence, a lamp to light the living room. However, we did watch one world cup game - France vs. Brazil. Now, there is no team I despise more than Brazil. I know, everyone seems to love these guys, and I have no idea why. They're all so arrogant, Ronaldo still looks like a dork, even after getting rid of the forehead goatee...but of course, them beating Germany in the 2002 finals has no bearing on my hatred of them, no way!

So I thoughoughly enjoyed watching France dispose of the Brazillians like yesterday's used kleenex. Good times. I also enjoyed seeing England (just below Brazil in the arrogance factor) being outsted by Portugal. Good Riddance. And Beckham goes out with his little injury...boo hoo, poor David. I really feel for Posh. Pansy.
And finally, Wayne Rooney getting the boot. Another big crybaby. Outta here!



Now, I know I have probably offended 50% of you out there since England and more importantly, Beckham, has a large following. Well, how about more fuel to the fire?

On Friday at the office, we were all around the tv watching the games. The owner of my company along with his kid were there, and they're Italians. Die hard fans. So who do I cheer for? GO UKRAINE!! I was searching everywhere close by to find some perogies to eat in front of them. That would have been fun. But, Italy did destroy them 3-0. At least that should set up a ton of fun Tuesday, when they meet...

GERMANY. Yes, that's my team, the ones everyone loves to hate. At least that's how it is around here. Germany beat Argentina in a shootout, setting up this epic matchup. When I go back to work on tuesday, you can bet my lunch will be a nich big Weiswurst with saurekraut :D
