Last weekend was the annual Heritage Festival in Edmonton. Nadu and I have gone every year since we moved here. It features about 70 countries with their food and culture. The food part is what brings us there.
We wanted to try a bunch of food that we've never had before. It's a little difficult, since we've been there the last 2 years already...and I can't handle spicy food (ie. curry), so countries like India and Pakistan are out. But we did have some new things to try: Turkey - Cheese Pie & Spinich Pie Laos - Mango Rice (just mango on top of coconut flavored rice) Afghanistan - something. Green Onions & Potato in a Pita Kenya - Rice & Stewed Goat Uganda - Samosa & Plantain There were some more, like Beef Stew from Ireland and a Fruit Smoothie from Polynisia. The food ranged in price from about $1 to around $5. It was all very worth it :) Oh, and I had to include this. The night before the festival we were watching tv, and I noticed some crappy old movie on CBC. Huh? It's in Japanese? And old. It's....Godzilla vs. Monster Zero! Cool :) It was soooo cheezy, but I couldn't stop watching. Finally after about half an hour Nadu made me change the channel. But she did take one picture: "Please enter the cylinder." お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
