Well, I'm feeling a little better today. I only worked for about 4 hours today, so I've been resting for most of the day. That means I can start my Okinawa 'delayed diary'.
Day 1 The plane trip was actually pretty good. My first flight was from Edmonton to Vancouver on Air Canada. Every seat had a mini tv, so I just watched History Television all the way there. Vancouver - Tokyo was about 9 hours I believe, on Japan Airlines. As always, JAL was great, decent food, excellent service. Again, mini tv's on the flight, I watched a couple of movies and read the beginning of War and Peace (I know, doesn't that make me sound learned?). In Tokyo I had the rare privilege of using Narita for the international and domestic flight, not having to take the bus through Tokyo to Haneda. Very nice. Tokyo - Okinawa was about 2.5 hours on JAL, no mini tv's :( Very boring flight. At Naha airport Nadu was there to pick me up. Straight to her parent's house and off to sleep for me. Day 2 Off to the hotel to talk to the wedding planner for the reception. We really didn't need one as our reception was very, very simple, but they insisted. Talked about some small things, met the photographers, that's about it. Days 3 - 6 These days were mostly more planning for the reception. On one day we went to European Sweet, a store where you can make a flower bouquet made from dried flowers. It was actually pretty fun, Nadu made one for her mom, I made one for her grandmother. I need to find the link for their website... Another day we went for our photographs in Okinawan kimonos. I do believe the funniest thing you could see is a tall white guy in a kimono. Don't believe me? Yikes!! During these 5 or so days, I realized (must to Nadu's...umm...dismay) that I had forgotten one of the 3 videos that we were going to show at the reception. It's a dvd of our wedding ceremony in Edmonton. I tried to download it from my friend who helped make it for all those days, but it wouldn't transfer properly. Luckily for me, we made a keynote presentation (Apple's answer to Microsoft's Powerpoint) of the day we put on the kimonos. No damage done :) Next up is the reception. A music mishap, confused hotel staff, and my great surprise. お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
