While Nadu was still in Okinawa, I decided to reinstall Windows on my desktop computer at home. It was acting a little weird as Windows does once in a while just to piss you off.

So I spend an entire Saturday making sure I have everything backed up on an extra hard drive I had laying around - videos, documents, wedding stuff, Nadu's backup from her old laptop, etc, etc. It was about 30GB of data, so it took a while to make sure it was all transferred.

Now two weeks later and my computer is running nicely again. I want to take a look at some pictures from a few years ago that are on my computer.

Ummm...now...where are they...hmmm...


DAMMIT!!!!!


They're gone. I must have missed my pictures folder when I transferred everything. 5 years of pictures gone. College (when Nadu and I first met), my trip to the Dominican Republic, to the mountains, to Ottawa, everything.

Thankfully we have copies of most of the best pictures, which we displayed at the weddings. But it sure sucks to lose all the others.

Good thing I have a good memory :P Too bad it's long term, not short term.
