Not your Typical Lycanthropic HoRRoR Flick
"Ladyhawke" is a galloping good fantasy adventure with silly music... I thought "Ladyhawke" was absolutely fantastic. I cannot say enough about the perfomances, the music, the beautiful scenery, etc..... First of all, Michelle Pfieffer and Rutger Hauer are amazing, playing the doomed lovers who are cursed to walk the earth, "always together, eternally apart." He is the wolf by night and she is the hawk by day. Hauer is brilliant as the stoic and heroic Navarre, and Pfieffer is enchanting as the beautiful Isabeau. Broderick is superb as the clever and funny Philippe. The music is so Beautiful in this movie, one of the best soundtracks ever created. It adds to the movie, especially the one refrain where the hawk is flying over the lake. It is enough to bring tears to the eyes , it evokes so much passion. There are so many beautiful scenes, the ditch scene in particular. I also the part where Philippe sees Isabeau after the "incident." That whole speech of "You must save this hawk he said " is so wonderful. Wow, truly fantastic. I encourage everyone to see this movie, please. No disappointment in this movie !! 【Matthew Broderick】Ladyhawke A Sweet Quaint Tale of LUV & MAGIC set it Medieval Times This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It has a bit of everything: humor [listen to the side comments that "Mouse" is always making to God ] , romance, magic, love, swordfights, action, etc... As such it makes a nice date movie as it has aspects which appeal to both men and women. It is set against a medieval backdrop. This makes for lovely costuming ... and scenic shots of castles & countryside. The plot is somewhat predictable. But, it is a sweet tale nonetheless... This is a visually breathtaking movie ... there are some exquistite shots of the hawk in flight (look for the one where "she" flies over the water wings leaving ripples in her wake )... ... of sunsets, of misty moonlit nights in the forest. The acting is not incredible. However, it is believable. Everytime I see this movie I have to wonder if Hauer and Pfieffer were involved romantically during its filming. There is one scene in particular where the couple are gazing at one another and I swear you can see "the lovelight shining" in thier eyes. The soundtrack. OK I'll say it upfront, I have NO idea what they were thinking. This is a romantic, mystical tale set in the medieval period, and the soundtrack is ... I can only describe it as Techno-Rock. it is incredibly out of place, and I can only advise that you try and ignore it...... This is a film with all the romance & action a couple could desire. Since there is something for everyone, it must be considered one of the best date movies ever made. A Cult Classic worth another Look... お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
