Better On Paper then Real Life...
Ensemble Cast,Ddirector, Plot, B&W... "DIAL M FOR MURDER " is a fabulous murder mystery that mainly takes place in one location.. .. the apartment of a married couple pretending to still be in . It is an extraordinary character piece which is why I suppose that everyone's been dying to remake it... Actors don't get this much to chew on very often anymore. It wouldn't be a Hitchcock film without lies, deception, blackmail and murder...and this film's got them in spades. He seems to be the only director who can make you feel more sorry for the murderer than the intended (in this case ) victim. Ray Milland plays a sports equipment salesman who attempts to have his wife murdered because she cheated on him and then lied about it. She constantly badgered him to give up the one thing he to do.. .. he was a professional tennis player .. so they could be together more, but he apparently waited too long. He knew she was having an affair, so in order to save his marriage he told her he would quit and settle down. Milland's performance is fantastic.!!!! He makes you root for the creep, which isn't easy to pull off. However, in the end, even with Hitchcock, the killer always gets his due. Though certain parts of this film are dated, it's still alot of fun to watch. Grace Kelly is also good as the unhappy wife. It's a first-rate movie that will make you think twice about angering your lover. 【Anthony Dawson】Dial M for Murder【Ray Milland】 The Ultimate Betrayl... The screenplay of "Dial M for Murder " is awesome. This movie raises the question of "how to muder your spouse without going to jail " Interesting question.!! Hitchcock shows you that killing someone is not that easy.!! The movie is nearly 1 0 0 % shooted in an apartment only. Nothing big, no stunts. Very tight budget I guess. But it is very very good. This actor played a lot of British officers, policemen and the like. And he played them well. The moment this movie gets really interesting is the moment that we see the call that was to signal the time for the "M" word, as Hitch takes us through the exchange station, watching the signal being transmitted to the on the other end in the middle of a scene filmed in the dark at the apartment, with the barest light, heightening intrigue & tension. There are generations of moviegoers who were born long after the death of Grace Kelly and Alfred Hitchcock who would benefit from watching these talents. When joining movie clubs through the and the there are many older classics and this may be offered that way. I would say the only thing that I noticed was no chemistry between the female character and the two males she was involved with. I bet if this were done today there would be another twist to have her involved with the Inspector as well. "Dial M For Murder " is truly a black and white gem worth watching. This is a classic stage play that still works for movies. I every moment of it, and I watch it at least once a month. Watch it for Grace Kelly, and Ray Milland, and for the gr8 editing and Hitchcock touches. The cast is limited, but not by ability.. Brilliantly done.. お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
