A Cute ＆ Loveable Loser..


Only A Loser Would Miss This One..
With American Pie alums Jason Biggs & Mena Suvari, "Loser " spins a story of a vaguely Midwestern, er, loser named Paul , who moves to New York to attend a vaguely NYU-like school on full scholarship.
Instantly loathed for not being a philistine, Paul finds himself attracted to a nice yet vaguely Goth girl named Dora that sits next to him in English Lit.
The only catch is that she's having an affair with the professor (Greg Kinnear ).
Ultimately, "Loser " is your standard triangle movie, tweaked to try and appeal to the coveted teen audience.
This is half-successful, and Biggs and Suvari carry enough innate charm to make you laugh plenty. A boatload of comedian cameos from Steven Wright to Taylor Negron livens things up as well.!!
Jason Biggs impressed me in this role.
He also had a supporting role in "Boys And Girls " which was possibly the one single highlight of that entire film.
In this movie he plays the role of a clueless college student in The Big Apple who wouldn't harm a fly.
A stroke of misfortune found him rooming with 3 goofballs who took advantage of him every time the opportunity arose.
These three provide some excellent comical moments in the film and you will to hate them.

The other main character in the film is Mena Suvari, who is most well known for her role as the flirtatious cheerleader in "American Beauty ".
She plays the typical New York female , who just so happens to be having a relationship with a mentally abusive college professor.
She is too blind to realize that he mistreats her and she gets caught up in the aura surrounding the "teacher-student " relationship.

A feel good movie about well... A loser.
A well to do kid who gets knocked down by the hardships that go along with college and ew.. New York City.
You'll be surprised how satisfied you are leaving the theater, one of the best expenditures of money I have followed through on in months.
I was lured to the movie by Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie)..
.. and once again charmed by her presence on screen.
In addition to her, there's American Pie funny man Jason Biggs who I am personally a big fan of.
His performance in American Pie left me on the floor for hours, and now again he does an excellent job in his character.
The humor is a little crude at first, but once you get in the groove of the movie, it's all second nature, and you'll find yourself laughing at every comment.
Look for a surprise apperance by my favorite band.

In summation, I highly recommend this MOVIE to teenagers, college students or anyone who can remember what its like to be an outcast at one point in time.
As I said, Jason is easy to relate to, and you'll find yourself really pulling for him to get the girl.
So check out this movie for a few chuckles & an optimistic look upon seemingly hopeless relationships.

I believe this movie is Jason Bigg's best performance in the last couple of years, even though to the contrary, many believe in American Pie he portrayed a better role.
One of things I liked about this movie was, the two main characters don't sleep with eachother, not many teen movies now adays.
