OZ we will All miss U...
Loved it to the End... "Oz " is one of my favorite television shows on cable . After staying glued to my television each week anxiously, waiting to see the next episode of "Oz " I was always in for a surprise. Well in the second season of "Oz " things get more intense at Oswald Penitentiary, a maximum-security prison. At the opening of the program we hear from Augustus Hill (Harold Perrneau Jr.), the show's narrator; he dramatically introduces, and ushers us to each episode of "Oz ." His vivid description of each prisoner's identity beginning with their assigned prison number, name, the crime they commented, and the expected duration of their sentences is an excellent opening to the show. His philosophies of life and life at Oz also gives the show a unique lift. "Oz " is an entertaining & enjoyable program because of its attempt to depict the harshness and realities of prison life is very successful. The vulgar language is raw, along with the atmosphere, and the crude crimes and lifestyles of prison life. Gritty, raw, and larger than life, "Oz" is the HBO show that takes you behind the walls of the Oswald State Penitentiary and into "Emerald City," an experiment in managing the prisoners. You occasionally get to see what it's like in the rest of the prison, and Em City seems like paradise - no bars on the cells (they're more like airlocks, with giant windows so everyone can see into the cells ), brighter colors, and a slightly better class of criminal... I have to really express how graphic these episodes are. In these discs you'll see men in the clutches of serious drug use, men burned to death, people getting stabbed by shards of glass, full frontal male nudity, and just about everything else you could imagine. IF you're a sensitive person, I suggest that you avoid it because it will disturb you greatly. And, yeah...Don't watch it with the kids. 【B.D. Wong】Oz:THE SOUNDTRACK 【Ernie Hudson】 "Oz " also includes commentary from the show's creator Tom Fontana and Lee Tergesen (Beecher) on the first two episodes (the first commentary is hilarious ), a feature about the making of the show, deleted scenes with commentary and a music video from the soundtrack. If you're anything like me, it will definitely grow on you. The basic gist of the show is that in the Oswald Maximum Security Federal Penitentiary (known as "Oz" ) is an experimental cellblock known as "Emerald City " where certain prisoners are sent to be a part of Tim McManus's (Terry Kinney) vision of the "perfect " prison. Along the way, we meet some of the most disgusting people that you could ever imagine which include Tobias Beecher (Lee Tergesen, who is in my opinion the best actor on the show), a lawyer who was convicted of killing a little girl while drunk driving.. .. Augustus Hill (Harold Perrineau, who also serves as the show's narrator), a former crack addict.. .. Vern Schillinger (J.K. Simmons), a white supremacist who beat a man to death after he caught him trying to sell drugs to his sons.. .. Kareem Said (Eamonn Walker, who has the honor of being the first person to ever play a Muslim major character on a TV show), a famous Muslim leader who was convicted of blowing up a white-owned building.. .. and Ryan O'Reily (Dean Winters, just about everyone's favorite character...mine included), who was convicted of just about everything. There are so many spectacularly interesting characters that I couldn't possibly list them all. The chaos which ensues when you bring all of these men together is repulsive, heartbreaking, fascinating, and just plain old fun to watch once you can get past the initial shock of seeing images like this on . Overall "Oz " is an outstanding ground braking television program. Tom Fontana, the creator of "Oz" does an outstanding job with this weekly TV drama. "Oz " is an original program because it's the only weekly television program with a direct focus of prison life, and the events that surrounds it along with a unique creation of stories. The cast in this weekly sitcom is outstanding in their realistic roles of prison inmates, the acting by this cast is also excellent. As for the direction, and setting I enjoy its realistic depiction and appearance inside of a prison, it sends chills up my spine. "Oz " scores , it's a must see television program. Without ruining too much more of the plot, there's some murders, some rapes, and all kinds of other prison hi-jinks. It's a compelling story, and the camerawork is beautifully done. The actors are quite convincing in their roles, and you never now what new twist is going to develop off of some harmless-seeming remark. お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
