Another Masterpiece From Dreamworks
When this movie came out we had to get it.
For one because of the gr8 job they did with Prince of Egypt and for two because we are born again Christians who believe in the bible and want to raise our children with the same faith.
Joseph, King of Dreams, was a hit at our house.
We rented it before buying, and it.!!!!
With "The Prince of Egypt " being such a big hit with us, we knew this one would be too.
My lovers cartoons, and I them being able to learn about the Bible while being entertained.
The movie captures the biblical story with such gr8 quality that every person watching will be enlightened by it.
The songs are amazing, and the animation is spectacular
The theme teaches that when God makes a promise, it will come to pass in time, no matter what the circumstances seem to be.
Dreamworks is quickly becoming a favorite in our household for quality family entertainment.

so the animation is as high tech as Toy Story or any Disney movies.
But where did Disney start out ?
Exactly right where they are and the producers are doing wonderfully
Its a gr8 movie and that is all I can say.
Now they did take some events a twisted them around, but if you have a Bible in your home you can follow along with it as my parents did and tell your children if that is true or not.
And you only have to do it once because they know its not all exactly going to happen the way the movie goes.

Joseph-King of Dreams is certainly not your average cartoon.
It provides a well outlined plot based upon the Old Testament story of the trials and accomplishments of Joseph, the son of Jacob and Rachel (Genesis 37 ).
This story is retold in the magic of wondrous bright color and enchanting song, which will delight viewers of any age group or belief system.

This serious but inspiring movie, teaches children about overcoming the odds that seem to be against them.
Joseph is the youngest of his brothers at the time he is sold into slavery, and has an uncanny gift for foretelling the future through dreams.. His father, Jacob, cherished him as his favorite openly, which intensified the jealously among the brothers.. Not to mention, that Joseph often told his family about his dreams which portrayed himself as ruler over them.. Then one day, Joseph had told their father that the brothers were off swimming while Joseph was left to watch over the family's sheep, which ended up being attacked by wolves.. This lead Jacob to scold the brothers which furthered the hatred they had for Joseph.. Therefore, the brothers plotted to sell Joseph into slavery as to prevent them from being responsible for his fate, and to rid themselves of their spoiled brother....

Joseph was to become a slave to Potiphar, captain of the royal guards.
He quickly gained Potiphar's trust and respect, which enabled him to gain responsibility over all household matters.
The admirable young Hebrew slave was also quite good-looking, a fact not lost upon Potiphar's wife.
In an erotic episode, the besotted woman tried to seduce Joseph, who protested as not to dishonor his master.
The enraged woman, whom had snatched Joseph's clothing as he ran from her, proclaimed to the servants and her husband that Joseph had tried to force himself upon her.
Her furious husband ordered Joseph's death for his supposed betrayal, when his wife admitted that he did not deserve such punishment.
Potiphar, realizing suddenly what had taken place, banished Joseph to the royal prison, as to protect the honor of himself and his wife for what she had done.

Upon entering the royal prison, Joseph encounter two men; the Pharoah's chief butler and the Pharoah's baker.
He soon learned that both men were troubled by mysterious dreams.
Acknowledging God's help, Joseph interpreted the butler's dream as meaning that he would be freed and restored to his office within three days; the baker's dream foretold his death by hanging.
Both men appeared upset by his interpretations, but Joseph asked the butler to remember him when he was freed.
The prophecies came true, but it was some time later before Joseph was remembered for his ability.
Pharaoh was troubled by two eerie dreams and sought the help of Joseph after his butler finally remembered him.
Joseph was able to reveal that the dreams predicted seven years of abundance in Egypt followed by seven years of dire famine.
Pharaoh appointed Joseph to a position to set up a program nationwide for stockpiling reserve grain during the fertile years and distributing during the famine years.
This eventually enabled Joseph to be in higher power above his brothers as predicted in the dreams as a youth.
His brothers came to him during the famine years for food to feed the family, and Joseph used that opportunity to demonstrate to his brothers how he had forgiven them, after coaxing them into confessing their sins against him.

The music is the movie is beautiful and spiritual.
The graphics are outstanding.
This is the perfect movie to sit and enjoy with your whole family.
It will teach your children about faith and entertain them at the same time.
This movie is sure to be a classic.
