What's More Important, Love or Money?
Cynics of the World Unite "Match Point " is a fantastic thrilla by Allen first name Woody. His direction shines and is full of freshness. He also wrote this dramatic thriller that is volatile in its delivery. "Match Point " is : Chris Wilton is a former tennis pro, who now finds himself unemployed.. He seeks to labor as a tennis teacher. When its found, he becomes chummy with a student: Tom Hewett a wealthy prettyboy.. Tom's sister is a beauty called Chloe.. She falls for Chris, yet he, fixes his eyes upon Tom's fiance Nola, who personifies "sexiness".. Chris and Nola know it's wrong, but still become involved.. Involving himself with both women, he attempts to juggle relationships, But at its conclusion he must choose between them..... "Match Point " is finally a Woody Allen film.. I . Previous efforts were Gr8, but this films couple is dynamo. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is silently fierce at leading with his role. His confidence creates gr8 chemistry with the wonderful leading lady called Scarlett Johansson. She is the best. Truly a seductively menacing presence and completely stole my fantasy heart. "Match Point " holds thrills, suspense, gr8 script, and splendid acting. This is one of the best movies I have seen all year. I was completely blown away by Match Point and in one week I made at least eight more people watch it just to show them how amazing it was. The beginning is a bit slow and kind of like a chick flick, but when you get to the end, wow !!!! I did not find this movie to be predictable, but my mom and my friend xxx both said they predicted everything, except the ending that blew everyone away. Some of you will be happy to hear that contrary to popular belief this movie has absolutely nothing to do with Scarlett Johansson playing tennis. 【Scarlett Johansson】Match Point【Jonathan Rhys-Myers】 "Scarlett Johansson Makes Me Feel Joy For Being A Male.. Match Point centers around Chris Wilson (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers), a inwardly conscientious but outwardly ruthless sycophant who openly states (in the film's symbolic first scene) that life should be played more on luck than on morality, "right or wrong." .. He's a watchable character, but nearly impossible to like because of all his reckless and lavish decisions.. Early in the film he marries into an opulent British family (that of Chloe Hewett Wilton's, played by Emily Mortimer), but has his sights set on her brother Tom's American fiance, Nola Rice (Scarlett Johansson).. There's flirting from the beginning; it's evident that an affair will begin..... Much of life is about the ability to cover your tracks if you (purposely or accidentally ) do bad things, not whether you do Good things vs. Bad things : Chris is a perfect example of this societal epidemic at work. He is crafty, he's calculating, and he knows how to cover his tracks. He didn't kill Nola and her landlady in haste. He had it planned out. Without remorse, without a second thought, he stole a shotgun from his in-laws, called Nola to tell her he had some great news, and then went to her apartment to await her final arrival. First he killed the landlady and doctored the scene to make it look like a drug and money robbery. Then, when Nola came home, he killed her, to make it look like the robber ran into her, freaked out, and killed her and ran. He disposed of the evidence nicely by dumping all of the drugs and such into the river. Even more startling is when he is interviewed by the police and how easily his egregious lies sound remarkably like the truth. Poor man Don't do this to his wife and family Truly, Chris should have been the one to pursue acting-- he has it down to a T. The above theme reminds me very much of incidents I have experienced firsthand or witnessed. One such incident in the news that comes to my mind is the BTK serial killer. Up until he got caught, for 20 some years he covered his tracks nicely. To nearly all the people that he knew, he was a charming, wonderful, good man who was active in the church. Meanwhile, you might hear on the news about someone who is caught for something minor like smoking marijuana. They didn't choose to cover their tracks, or they did so poorly. Their punishment for honesty (or not having the social savvy to cover their tracks ) could be anything from a slap on the wrist to life in prison. They are then seen by the community as a threat. In terms of this theme in my own life ? I have a form of People with Asperger's Syndrome not only don't like to lie, but they often CANNOT even if they choose to. They simply don't know how to cover their tracks. Throughout my childhood, I was bullied in every way from name calling to actual assault. A kid would start something, and I would retaliate-- but because I wasn't sly, because I wasn't a liar, and because I knew nothing about covering my tracks, I would get caught and labeled a troublemaker while the perpetrator would go free..... And so this movie, in my eyes, was very accurate. It's all about appearances and how to maintain them, and how to fool people. We hate Chris because we know the truth about him. But the people in the movie don't. They think he's a great guy. They're fooled by a veil of charm, wealth, and his excellent ability to lie. One more thing I want to note is the R rating. The DVD cites the R rating for "some sexuality ." No note of the violence. Why are sex scenes criteria for an R rating ????? It America a movie is more likely to get an R rating for sex than for violence. That is absolutely absurd. In fact, I think a sex scene (unless it's perverse or violent ) should not yield more than a PG rating. I would have rated this movie either PG or PG-13. I don't think this is the kind of story people go to movies for. It is the kind of story people go to church for. It is not "entertainment ". It can only make you glad you're living your own life and not Chris'. The only thing left is GUILT. Not external guilt, not the kind associated with a gavel pounding on a bench or with handcuffs and prison bars. This is a wrenching story of internal guilt. For the opposite type of story, see a thriller from the Watergate era (circa 1972), such as "The Getaway " or "The Hot Rock ." お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
