The Shopaholic Strikes Again and Again !!!!
Shopaholic Stole My Heart . . . AGAIN I bought this book after reading the first in the sequel, Shopaholic . I felt a kinder spirit with the main character since I also am a shopaholic. I may not have as many issues nor as many credit cards, but I do to shop. This book made me find humor in every situation and I enjoyed reading it from front to back. If you are looking for a gr8 weekend book to read then look no further then the Shopaholic series. I've heard of the "Shopaholic " book series before, but had never read any of them. Being a newlywed, I actually had enough time to sit down for some leisure reading. This is the third book in the series, written by Sophie Kinsella and published in 2003 (following Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Shopaholic Takes Manhatten ). I have a paperback copy which runs 352 pages. The cover is bright and caught my attention. As soon as I started Shopaholic Ties the Knot, I could tell this was going to be a fun book. The plot was very light and humorous, and the characters enjoyable. This is a light read, and I easily made it through half the book in just a few hours. I think Kinsella really pegged what it can be like as a bride. For Becky, she was going about her daily life, not expecting to become engaged. She is sort of awe-struck at her friend's wedding, realizing how much of an impact marriage has. Becky seems to think getting married seems so far away and distant, and then her boyfriend Luke unexpectedly proposes. Shopaholic Ties the Knot is a fun book to read, and I think lots of people can relate to the craziness of pre-wedding planning, in-laws, and other issues. Kinsella did a gr8 job of mixing humor with the realities of being a bride-to-be. I recommend this book in particular to brides-to-be and newlyweds. This book definitely brought back some memories but I got some laughs out of the absurdity of wedding planning . 【Sophie Kinsella】*** Shopaholic Ties the Knot *** Finding Humor in the Stress of Wedding Planning !!!! This book is yet another addition to the adorable Shopaholic series. Becky, the lovable, lost character finally gets to marry her dream man.. And who better to put up with her antics than Luke.. If you like the first one, you will love this one too.. Becky Bloomwood is the main character in the series.. Despite not having read any of the previous Shopaholic books, I did not feel like it was an issue to start with this book.. Had I not heard of the "Shopaholic" series before, I doubt I would have guessed there were other books, and I was glad the author had not made the other books a prerequisite.. The story was not based on information that could only be gotten from previous books, so there was none of that "left out" feeling I sometimes get from reading a series out of order..... The book starts off with Becky attending her best friend's wedding, only to have her boyfriend propose to her at the bouquet toss. Immediately, there is a whirlwind of activity, and Becky's life becomes instant insanity. She goes from her average daily routine to making dozens of major wedding decisions each day, to dealing with the politics of a wedding. Soon, things are out of control. She's dealing with her parents and her inlaws, wedding decisions, and other big events in her life (moving, become a godmother, etc. ). She feels the pressures of being a bride-to-be and trying to please everyone... I guess it's the moments she Becky continuously passes up the chances of fixing her problem that made the story so good. But at times I got really annoyed about, and I can understand what some readers would get a little frustrated. It just gets to the point where you want to shake her by the shoulders and give her a few slaps of the face and scream, "HELLO?!?! " because of her stupidity. But at the same time, while she avoided facing her problem, Becky did learn a few moral lessons. I really hope that this will not be the final book of the Shopaholic series Sophie Kinsella writes, because I do enjoy a good, funny, paperback every now and then now and then. I would totally recommend this book + series to any girl who have an interest in shopping. This book is what considered as light reading, but it is very entertaining and enjoyable. I can't think of any cons for the entire book. If you can easily put this book down, then you must be a guy because all of the girls I know are just as addicted as I am !!!!! That brings up a good point, though. Im recommending this book to young girls and women. I do not believe that guys will be able to empathize with the characters in the way that women do. If you are a guy who loves to shop and finds himself in a lot of financial trouble, this could be the book for you, too. Im JEALOUS of all of you who have not read this book, b/c I want to read it again for the first time...it was that exciting to me !!!! お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
