Waifish drug addict Jane Doe (Calista Flockhart in a pre-Ally McBeal starring role ) serves as muse to struggling young writer Horace (Christopher Peditto ) in writer/director Paul Peditto's gritty urban romance.
As Horace falls further and more helplessly in with Jane, he tries to free her from her inner demons on a journey that takes them from the back streets of New York to the fallen glamor of Atlantic City.

This film, while sombre at times, has many chipper moments and makes Calista Flockhart shine in all her glory.. She plays a sweet gal of the city who starts a romance with a nice guy-next-door type.. They have liasions and, well, you know how relationships go.. A soul-baring of a scene is when she does a strip-tease of sorts (not all the way, though!) for him on his bed while he sits beneath her groovin' body...

, I'm gonna make this a capsule xxxxx...so Calista's character, Jane, also deals with her drug addiction that is her tragic flaw.
She and her have a penchant for standing on the street corner and making like a bird and flapping her "wings " or her crooked arms.
Fun fun fun * eccentric too *
Plugging along at a relatively fast pace, this indie flick, which I don't recall being marketed very aggressively in the theaters, is a great rental for a Friday or any night.
If you're a Flockhart/Ally fan, or just for some intense, heartfelt acting, "Jane Doe" takes the cake.
Calista's acting is stellar.
If you've ever stayed in a relationship that wasn't strictly good for you and wondered why this movie will answer you, though you might not like what it has to say.
Peditto and Flockhart gave a realistic feel to their interaction, having a wit-rich and well-crafted script to work from, and made me feel I was looking into moments of the lives of real people.
Although, I thought Horace's private-detective-like monologues were almost over the top.

Fortunately, the drug addiction was not as heavy-handed an element as with other similar movies, and contributed to Flockhart's character instead of dominating it.
This movie is not for the Feel-Good seakers, but must see for the intrepid heart.
And of course, I'm waiting anxiously for the soundtrack release.
"Why Do You Love Me " made me watch the credits 4 times.

Calista's a charmer, Especially w/the Lapdance !!!!

Calista is going to be a Gr8 actress in the future as she is now.
The movie JANE DOE is very imoionally expressed with her views.
I think she had worked with her heart in the movie.
It gives the message to coming younger generation about ill effects of druggism & ofcourse about love, that how much she her boyfriend while those in love will learn the lesson that how much they are loved by their lovers.

Drug addict Jane's tragic flaw is her drug problem; still, she never ceases to entertain, bemuse and tug at our heartstrings.. Not a fan of her sitcom, I wondered whether or not I would enjoy a full-length movie staring Flockhart Absolutely
Her acting was superb.. The best kind of acting is when you sense the actor doesn't know the camera is there! She accomplished this.. Viewers could truly believe in this character -- with all her pain, her love of life, her zaniness, her "on the edge" emotions, her loathe of herself.....

Not a light theme, this. Not for the faint of heart.
Drug addiction is a difficult thing for unaffected persons to understand.
Flockhart's character brought the poison and destruction of it to life.
And it was done with minimal details and Hollywood-style overbearing.
No long, drawn-out scenes of her barfing all night and passing out -- just a short one, of her waking with her face in a bowl of her own vomit.
Very effective. No over kill.
Scenes moved rapidly, as does real life.
Emotions changed swiftly.
Nothing is simple or comes easily.
If you like Calista Flockhart you need to go here.
I first saw her in "Birdcage" and fell in love with her.
This film, while not magnificent, provides a glimpse into what Calista Flockhart will be come.
Her co-star was suitable.
He downplayed his role next to the brilliance of the drug-addicted and beautiful gem Flockhart portrayed.
I could have easily gone without his narration, however, as it added the only unreal quality to movie.

I could not recommend this movie to everyone.
It lacks car chases, gun shoot outs, extended sex scenes, gratuitous foul language.
It was, however, full of the grimness of life, great acting, wonderful dialogue, intimations of joy, moments of laughter, and full tragedy.
I hope by watching this movie you could be the fan of calista (because of not, se's sexy but by her role ) thank you very much.
If I could have wish in my life & that is to meet her once while I'm alive.
