Julia Stiles Gets Jiggy With It !!
Makes You Want to Get Up and Dance.. After seeing a trailer, and reading everything I could find, about the movie, I was anxious for it's opening in theaters. At the first possible opportunity I went with a freshly convinced friend. We were both extremely satisfied, pleasantly entertained, and with giddy grins from ear to ear. If you are one of the unfortunate people who has not yet seen this movie I suggest you run out to the nearest theater ASAP I had just recently went to the theater to see "Save the Last Dance ", featuring Gr8 actors and actresses such as the wonderful Julia Stiles, who you've also seen in "Ten things I hate about you ", and "Down to you ". For guys out there you probably are thinking this will be the average chick flick, and I don't intend to see it, but all in all this movie is gr8 for both genders. The movie starts out with a tragedy that I won't mention because I don't want to ruin it for you, but Julia ends up having to move from a pretty uptown community to a more dangerous one. She is pretty much the minority in the town, but learns a lot of things and meets many faces. This leads her to learn many things about herself and others for that matter. Dancing is the rage in this community and her being a former ballet dancer is interested in learning hip hop. She is taught the moves and realizes (with some help ) that she has to follow her dream that she has been holding off due to the emotionally pain she has been going through from the tragedy. She learns to face her fear and ends up falling in along the way. This movie features Gr8 music and all the times they go out dancing it makes you want to get up and groove right in the theater yourself. This movie really sets different emotions it is funny, sad, and yet overall enjoyable. I really enjoyed "Save the Last Dance ", and everyone I asked has felt pretty much the same as I have about it. Don't just sit there reading get out and see it !! It's well worth the money !! 【Sean Patrick Thomas】Save the Last Dance【Julia Stiles】 Shaking my Booty Once Again... Similar to films such as "Dirty Dancing and Center Stage ", "Save The Last Dance " integrates a racially charged relationship, aspiring dreams, and modernized choreograpy. Girl goes to a place. Boy meets girl... they butt heads, become friends, and eventually possibly more. They work together towards a dancing dream. People around them disapprove, hound, and generally make life difficult. Though "Save The Last Dance " isn't based on a particularly theme, it is definitely distinctly geared toward the younger generation of present. MTV worked together with Paramount on this project; challenging modern racial issues, exploring the evolving hip-hop world, and utilizing an almost wholly new musical line-up to the common listener.. Once again, new lingo is introduced, as is the mandatory ghetto foul-language.... Julia Stiles has made her mark in mostly teen-based films, and she's pulled it off once again. Her mix of angst and innocence is portrayed beautifully on screen. Together with Sean Patrick Thomas , they create an intense chemistry that makes the circumstances all that much more believable. Sara is pushing Roy away from her; she doesn't embrace him as her father, because he had not been there for her through her life.. When she finally breaks she realizes that Roy does love her by his own admission, and he does his best for her.. She pushes Derek away because she doesn't want him hurt by what others say or feel.. Assuming he may feel the same way she walks away.. In her heart she wants him with her, she feels she cannot go to this audition without him..... Several tear jerking moments in this film, that goes very deep. Most are to do with lost , renewed , and new . The sense of feeling alone in the world without that one person you could always count on to be there is only there for you in spirit. She passes her audition with the help of Derek, and her father is there for her. Both a new and a renewed . Derek's sister, Chenille (Kerry Washington ) spoke the only truth that matters near the end of the movie, when she says, "You can't help who you love. " As for the actual dancing involved in the movie. I proclaim no expertise in that area, nor to the authenticity of any hip-hop or ballet. All I do know is that I to dance, get my groove on, and to watch others do it better than I. From my novice stand-point, the choreography was fresh, new, exciting, and somewhat "slammin'!! " The last dance is the Gr8est use of symbolism as far as teen movies are concerned and is used to represent to final confrontation between a teen and his childish fears. For Sara, the fear is her dream of becoming a professional dancer, and the "last dance " is an actual dance to the appropriate tune of Athena Cage's "All or Nothing ", which is about making your dreams come true. In the end, Save the Last Dance's hopeful message extends far beyond aspiring dancers; it is an extremely positive movie about sticking to your dreams and never giving up at what you love and what you're good at. This is a theme in practically every teen movie that ends happily but none has been told as adeptly as this one. お気に入りの記事を「いいね!」で応援しよう
