ある役者は、「殺人を犯したことがなくても殺人者の気持ちになれる。それが役者だ」と述べたといいます。
が、そのような想像力がないフツーの人だったばかりに、罪を犯してしまった人もいます。
Imagination is essential for an artist.
One actor said, "You don't have to have committed a murder to feel like a murderer. That's what an actor does.
However, there are people who have committed crimes because they were ordinary people without such imagination.

卒論を書くために盗みを働いた大学生（The college student who stole to write his thesis）

ある23歳の大学生が、弟とともに盗みを働きました。
犯行場所は各地の音楽事務所で、ギターやドラムなどを失敬（しっけい）しました。
その目的は、弟は”バンドを結成するため”、兄は”卒論を書くため”。
兄は、なんと、「犯罪者の心理」なる論文を書こうとしていたのです。
でも、その心理が分かりません。
そこで、自分が実際に犯罪者になってみることにしたわけです。

They stole guitars, drums, and other musical instruments from music offices around the country.
The purpose of the theft was "to form a band" for the younger brother and "to write his thesis" for the older brother.
The older brother was trying to write a thesis on the psychology of criminals.
But he didn't understand the feelings of criminals.
So he decided to actually become a criminal himself.

この兄弟は、あっさり捕まってしまいました。
