exploit connections between areas. A borad-based educational background can
provide the analytical skills to make such connections.
Consider the example of Steven Jobs, the founder of Apple Computer.
Steven Jobs, while never actually graduateing from college,
attended a small liberal arts college which does not offer any business courses.
This same man saw a connection between the burgeoning power of the computer chip
and the demand of the user-friendly ways to tap the power.
The resulting product, teh Macintosh, revolutionized the computer industy.
An individual with a narrow business background, tied to stale classroom
notions of how business should be conducted, might not have been able to see such connection.
