I am writing you because we desperately need your help. There are over 200 dogs (originally rescued from puppy mills) in Waizumi-city, Osaka, Japan that is facing extermination by the Osaka prefecture on Feb. 27th 7a.m. (Original planned date). Due to the strong resistance from the group of volunteers, animal rescue groups and volunteer veterinary doctors groups, Osaka prefecture postponed the extermination for today. Out of over 200 dogs that are in extremely poor conditions, more than 100 dogs have been infected by Brucella canis and that is the reason for extermination. Osaka prefecture has done nothing to save these dogs' lives or even separate these dogs that are infected and not-infected in the beginning and that created more infected dogs as a result. It seems to me that they never meant to help them in the first place. These dogs can be saved by appropriate treatment but nothing has been done. In fact I’ve heard Osaka prefecture over medicated these dogs and many of them died because of it.

There are couple of organizations in Japan that have been trying to save these dogs (and I believe they have capability of saving them), but Osaka prefecture has denied and ignored all of their attempts to help. We need to stop killing dogs that are treatable and we need your help to change their mind about this.

I sincerely hope that your organization will publish a report about this and helping to spread the message across the world and help these treatable dogs and teach the Osaka prefecture that this is not how to treat animals.
