Hula popularity in Japan

The Hawaiian Hula is very popular among Japanese women who are from both younger and generation to older generations these days.

You can often see feature articles in magazines or newspapers, which are introducinge hula girls wearing vividly coloured skirt and adorning their long hair with a hair clips made by of flowers.

Actually I am the one of them those women who is addicted to the hula.


But Why on earth, though, is the hula came to such so popular in Japan where which is very far from Hawaii?


The first place I met the hula was in Waikiki, Hawaii during a trip when I was a college student.

Although before then I have loved dancing since I was a little girl,

but as soon as I saw the hula, I thought "This is it!" and I looked for the a place where I can could learn the hula in Japan, but I could find only few schools.
whereas There are about a double digit larger number of schools lately now.

About a decade later I finally enrolled in a hula school.


Whenever I am dancing I can easily get rid of stresses from work and be happy.

I would say that is the reason why the hula has gainsed fans among stressfuled career women.

They need an oasis in this hard world.


And Also a Japanese society with an aging population due to a low birth rates might relate the hula population.

The slow dancing motion of the hula is a good excercise for not only younger people but also elderly people.

I was sort of astonished because many old women who are almost as old as my grandmother was were dancing at a recital.


In consideration of this, it seems that the Japanese hula popularity has been keeping up with the times but I, myself, will keep dancing the hula regardless of the times from now on.

時々適さない単語を使っていたり、言いたいことがはっきりと読者に伝えられていないようです。
それから相変わらず前置詞や冠詞、定冠詞が弱いですねぇ。



昨日は東京から友達が２人遊びに来てくれました。
ちょうどそろそろ着くかなという時間に近くの高速道路で雪崩があったというニュースを知り、まさか「巻き込まれた！？」と思い焦って電話したところギリギリそこを通りぬけていた後。（´▽｀）ホッ

あまりの大雪振りに驚く２人。
地元の人でさえパニック状態だからね。
しかしよく５年履きっぱなしのスタッドレスタイヤで来たもんです。
都会のみなさん、雪道は本当に怖いよ。
スキーなどで来るときは気をつけてくださいね～
