LOST IN GLASGOW

Weather : Sunny. Very unusual day. People should enjoy this kind of day. But windy. Very very windy. Scottish people may not be surprised at typhoons.

There are many differences between Japan and Scotland. I’m going to talk about one of those today; barbers.
One of my friends often says “there are a few very fashionable people compared to Japanese.” Well… though obviously I’m not one of those who are fancy Japanese, it might be true. I’m not quite sure how Scottish people recognize themselves but, from Japanese view point, they are actually not necessary to take care of their fashion because they are physically perfect! Unlike Japanese people, they’ve got non-black eyes, individually different, and non-black hair, also individually different. These are some reasons why Japanese tend to like Europeans.
Within Japanese people around me, having their hair cut is one of serious issues. A reason is that we don’t know many vocabularies to precisely explain how we want to have our hair cut. But even if they could explain it, barber’s doesn’t know how to cut their hair as Japanese want. This is the most significant fact Japanese are scared of. There is no guarantee that they can get out from a barber’s shop with their hair style safe.
Barbers are very good at doing short hair. That’s why now my hair is very short. ￡6 by student discount. Well, it’s not bad. Actually, it’s cheap.

By the way, I went to a church as part of a World Religion lecture. I was nearly about to sleep in when I took a nap in my bed at 4 pm.
The church was near the Botanic Garden and Greek Orthodox Church. It smelled like a Japanese grand mum’s house inside of the church. Many pictures of Saints are on the wall. Then a man started to explain about something in a hall of the church. Actually, I couldn’t understand what he said. His voice was too quiet though he looked like a soldier in a movie, like Braveheart. But cakes and tea they kindly served to us were very very nice! They were for free! There is nothing more fantastic than free items actually.

What is religion? It should be for happiness of people. This must be strictly noted firstly. In fact, there are many religions, sects and philosophies. They also slightly differ between people. However there must be a way to understand each other among them, or we have to find it or establish it. The way to create never-ceased peace upon the world is, I think now, the unity among people. Otherwise the evil side of human life would have gathered and invade over us. We have to fight against it. I’m not talking about some spiritual thing or something angels and devils. It is the conclusion of the rational philosophy, philosophy that I’ve learned so far from my religion and the mentor.
I have to make more effort, be more active, brave…to defeat my weakness.
