伝統的アラビア風朝食＠カタール航空

伝統的アラビア風朝食↑（2019年3月27日、ドーハ・ダルエスサラーム間）ドーハ（カタール）からダルエスサラーム（タンザニア）に向かう機内で、伝統的アラビア風朝食を初めて食べました。これまで何度も食してきたアラビア風メッツェと同じようなもと思っていたのですが、別物でした。定番のピタパンに、メイン料理、さらに、新鮮なキュウリ、トマト等の野菜にミント、オリーブの実、チーズが出てきました。メイン料理は、練りごまの和え物のような感じのものです。具材として、豆、刻んだタマネギ、トマト、魚のすり身のようなものが入っています。【Bon appétit !】　Along with the overall increase in meal size, Qatar Airways has also created new, larger casserole dishes for some of its routes, while its medium- and long-haul services are getting a revamped（改良した）inflight economy class menu.　The economy class menu revamp comes just over a month after Qatar Airways launched new inflight dining options for its business and first class passengers, including new tableware, cutlery and chinaware.　However, Arabic dishes including kabsa, biryani, and flame-grilled meats will continue to feature “on most routes”.（https://www.businesstraveller.com/business-travel/2018/07/13/qatar-airways-serves-new-larger-economy-class-meals/）

カタール航空の夕食（和食）

和食メニュー（牛肉）↑（2019年3月26日）　成田からドーハに向かう飛行機ですので、夕食には和食を頼みました。　普段肉を食べない生活をしていますが、この日は非日常であることから、牛肉を頼みました。　I ordered a Japanese-style meal, as it was a fright from Japan. 【Bon appétit !】　Qatar Airways was established on November 22, 1993; operations started on January 20, 1994. ハマド国際空港のランプ熊健在

カシオペア車両の通過 at 赤羽駅

銀座の踏切

浜離宮前踏切警報機↑（2019年3月15日、中央区、東京都）汐留から築地市場に向かって歩いていると、なんと踏み切り警報機がありました。と言っても、線路はありません。以前ここには、汐留貨物駅から東京市場駅に向かう引き込み線があったということです。1987年1月に最後の貨物列車が走ったそうです。I happened to meet an alarm of a railroad crossing in Ginza area, Tokyo.However, there are no rail around it.They say that the railroad has been abandoned since 1987, which run to Tsukiji Market from Shiodome freight station.【Bon appétit !】　Tokyo is not managed without a railroad. 上野の桜

満開のオオカンザクラ↑（2019年3月12日、台東区、東京）上野公園の入り口付近にある桜が満開で、たくさんの人で賑わっています。この桜、オオカンザクラという種類だそうです。ソメイヨシノはまだ、開花していませんが、桜祭りが行われる今月下旬には見ごろを迎えることでしょう。As of today, you can see wonderful cherry blossoms called ookanzakura at the entrance of the Ueno Park, though Ueno Sakura Festival has not yet started.【Bon appétit !】　Ueno Park started as grounds for Toeizan Kaneiji Temple, where some of the Tokugawa family members who ruled Japan in the Edo period are buried. 2019年3月3日の農作業

ジャガイモ↑（2018年5月23日、川口市、埼玉県）2019年3月3日の農作業は、ジャガイモの植え付けです。既に寒起こしをして石灰窒素、牛糞堆肥を入れていた畑（６×８ｍ）の一畝（６ｍ）に、鍬で深さ15㎝の溝を掘ります。溝に、半分に切り分けた種イモを30cm間隔に20株、切り口を下にして置いていきます。株間に、化成肥料30gを置き、その上に牛糞堆肥を置きます。最後に土を埋めて平らにならして植え付け完了です。種イモは、男爵とメークイーンを10株ずつ植え付けました。種イモのへそと反対側を結んだ線でイモを縦に切り分けます。その際、太い芽（頂芽）を優先して、出ている芽の数が両側に振り分けられるように切ります。3か月後には写真のようにジャガイモが成長し、4か月後には収穫できるようになるでしょう。【Bon appétit !】　Folklore offers many “best days” for planting potatoes:　Old-timers in New England planted their potato crops when they saw dandelions（たんぽぽ）blooming in the open fields.　The Pennsylvania Dutch considered St. Gertrude’s Day (March 17) to be their official potato-planting day.　Many Christians believed that Good Friday（聖金曜日）is the best day to plant potatoes because the devil holds no power over them at this time.　All of these “best days” suggest an early spring planting!（https://www.almanac.com/plant/potatoes）

桜開花日もうすぐ

ソメイヨシノ？↑（2019年3月2日、文京区、東京都）冬枯れの銀杏↑（2019年3月2日、文京区、東京都）3月2日に文京区にある大学の構内で見かけた桜です。秋から咲く桜もありますので、写真の桜がソメイヨシノかどうかはよくわからないのですが、葉はまだありませんし、色も淡い色ですし、一重なので、おそらくソメイヨシノだと思います。開花日予想に使われる桜もソメイヨシノです。今日も開花日の予想がニュースになっていました。基準としている桜で、5－6輪の花が開く状態になると開花と呼ぶようです。現時点の予想では、東京では、3月20日から22日頃が開花日になるようです。予想の仕方は様々でしょうが、毎日の気温を加算してく累積温度が一定の値に達した時に開花日になるという基本法則に基づいて予想しているものがほとんどだと思います。今日までの累積温度に差はありませんので、予想に差が出るのは、これからの気温の推移をどう見るか、開花日の累積温度を何度と見積もるかが、予想の差として現れます。もちろん、日照時間や蕾の膨らみ具合等の温度以外の情報を加味するか否かの違いも予想の差として現れているかもしれません。余談ですが、桜の開花予想の手法を使えば、今年の米の単位面積当たり収量も気象情報から予測することができます。【Bon appétit !】　The Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC)'s cherry blossom forecast is based on various factors, such as the low temperatures during autumn and winter, cumulative temperatures, past area data, and cherry tree growth status.　For 2019, Tokyo’s sakura blossoms are expected to start opening around March 21, with peak bloom around March 29.（https://livejapan.com/en/article-a0001033/）
