今日の富士山

　写真は、今日（2024年8月26日）のさいたま市から見た富士山です。　Pictures of Mt.Fuji taken from Saitama City on August 25, 2024【Bon appétit !】　In English, the mountain is known as Mount Fuji. Some sources refer to it as "Fuji-san", "Fujiyama" or, redundantly, "Mt. Fujiyama". Japanese speakers refer to the mountain as "Fuji-san". KATO Railway Park at Tsurugashima（鶴ヶ島市）

　鉄道模型の（株）関水金属が、新工場建設に合わせて埼玉県鶴ヶ島市に「ガーデンパーク」を整備したというので、寄って来ました。　園内にはレンガ調の機関庫があり、工場の周りを延長620mの線路が敷設されていました。線路は、三線軌条で、軌間762mmと610mmが併用されています。　機関庫内は入れませんでしたが、窓から見ると、オリジナルSLオスカー（なんと2023年新造です）、黄色いDLビリー、緑色のSLオリバーなどが庫内にありました。　また、工場棟エントランス脇にある引き込み線展示庫には、西武鉄道山口線で活躍していたコッペル532号機が34号客車（ホハ10）と一緒にいました。　Photos show newly opened KATO Railway Park in Tsurugashima City, Saitama Prefecture.

案山子が田んぼを見張っています

　収穫間近の田んぼでは、鳥などが来ないように案山子が田んぼを見張っています。　写真は、今日（2024年8月23日）、さいたま市見沼地域で見かけた案山子です。　Scarecrows stand in rice fields and are frightening birds away.　Photos show scarecrows in Minuma area, Saitama City.【Bon appétit !】　Minuma is the wetlands area spreading through the center of Saitama City, and is a prosperous rice production area of the Kanto region (tambo means rice field). 稲の収穫が始まりました

　写真は、今日（2024年8月21日）に撮ったものです。場所は、さいたま市の荒川左岸河川敷内の田んぼです。　だいぶ色づいています。　既に稲刈りを終えている田んぼもあります。　Colour of rice fields have turned into gold.　Rice harvest season has already started in Saitama city.　【Bon appétit !】　By the time the full heat of summer has died down and fall is in the air, the fields have now turned into golden waves of rice. Finally, harvest season has arrived. First, the water is drained from the paddies to make the rice easier to harvest. Next, a combine is used for rice harvesting.
