promise to 〜を約束する：不定詞をとる

不定詞をとる動詞は以下のようなものを習った。

・would you like to
I'd like to travel around Asia.

・want to
The boy doesn't want to go to school.

・need to
You need to practice every day.

・learn to
She learned to drive a car when she was 18.

・decide to
We decided to stay at home,because the weather was terrible.

・plan to
They're planning to get married.

・hope to
I hope to pass the exam.

特殊な複数形名詞は 's

☆Our sons' name are Robert and Eddie.

名詞の複数形に所有を示すs をつける場合は ' のみとなる。

☆He enjoys playing soccer.

enjoy ～ing ～を楽しむは動名詞をとる。

☆It's too hot. We can't go ice skating today.

go ice skating アイススケートをしに行く

☆He doesn't take a bus to get to school.

get は学校に行くというより、到着するという意味合いか。

・How do I get to the bank？

その銀行にはどうしたら行けますか？
どういう道順でたどり着けるか?と尋ねる場合に使う表現。
