This week I gave two different English seminars: One for 福岡貿易会
and another one for a Fukuoka-based major company.
I gave the last lecture and English training session at 貿易会's course titled,
"貿易英語「上級編-Advanced Course」."
14 business persons from different companies joined this course of 6 lectures.
Their companies are members of 福岡貿易会.
Even though they took part in this Advanced Course, they are, I'm sure,
in an intermediate level of English.
I had an intermediate level course, giving the participants four weekly
lectures in this summer.
It's been a very good opportunity for me to see the English level among the
participants through these courses.
Some of them have high scores of TOEIC, but they are not good enough as a business English communicator in my opinion.
I have found out again that TOEIC or 英検 is not trustworthy. Real English command is beyond such private-run test scores. 【ken】
