私が描いた花輪莞爾『悪夢名画劇場』のための挿画101点の展示は、花輪氏の冥福を祈りつつ、67/101点となる本日で一応終了します。
38年間の花輪氏の交誼を思い出しながら旧作を回顧した。私は後に、今回展示したうちの2作品を下絵として油彩画を描いた。その油彩画は花輪氏の小説から切り離さした主題で、女性の置かれて来た歴史的に困難な状況を象徴的表現で示すためにニューヨークで展示した。
The exhibition of 101 illustrations for Kanji Hanawa's
the collection of sort srories "Nightmare Dream master-
piece Theater" that I drew will end today, which will be
67/101, while praying for Mr. Hanawa's soul.
I looked back on the old work while remembering Mr.
Hanawa has kept company with me for 38 years.
I later drew oil paintings based on two of the works
exhibited this time. The oil paintings are separate sub-
ject from Mr. Hanawa's novel and were exhibited in New
York to symbolically represent the historically difficult
situation of women.
