昨日から雨が降ってる。我家の近辺では私の記録によると昨年の10月23日以来の雨である。そして今日は雪になるかもしれないという予報だったが、さいわいにも小雨ですんだ。
長い間、家に閉じこもっている。さきほど鏡を覗いたら、山羊髯とまではなっていないが、白い無精髯が垂れ下がっていた。外出しないので髯を剃らないからだ。近頃の流行とかで、男も体毛をすっかり抜いてしまうそうだ。どういうつもりなのか私には理解できない。あまりゾッとしない流行だ。まあ、他人のことなど知った事ではないが。

It has been raining since yesterday. It has been rain-
ing near my house since October 23, last year, accord-
ing to my records. And it was forecast that it might
snow today, but fortunately it's a light rain.
For a long time, I stayed at home. When I looked in
the mirror earlier, I don't say it's like the goat's beard,
but a white stubble was hanging down. Because I didn't
go out, I didn't shave my beard.
It seems that a man also pulls out hair of his body
completely due to the recent fashion. I can't understand
what it mean. It's a fad that it's hideous. Well, I didn't
know about other people's zest.
