​オフィシャルLINE​の中のタスクの１つの「プチ翻訳の部屋」で私が書いている

「サナンとヤン」という２匹の猫の出てくる童話です。

（数行ずつ童話が日本語で送られてくるので、それを翻訳してみるタスク。１日数行でいいので、英語を書こう！という意図あり。​）


私は、けっこうその場で何も考えず、書いているのですが、

後先のことを考えてないくせに、

思い付きで、伏線風に書いたりして、

そのため、なんだか、

どんどん辻褄合わせが必要になってきちゃってるんだが、


我ながら、どう辻褄を合わせるんだろう...？？？


イラストを描いてくれてる友人も、

「これからどんな風になっていくの？」と聞いてくるんだが、


私も知らない...

（っていうのもすごいよネ！）







原文は日本語で配信しているのですが、英語で読んでみたい、という声をたくさんもらっているので、

英語の方を（Julia監修）シェアしています。

（ちなみに、書式は話のかたまりでまとめず、学習者用に１文ずつ分けて改行してみました。）

Sanan and Yan ～その３～


As Yan browsed the perfume shelves, she found various fragrances with scents like catnip, fish, sunbathing and so on.

She tried some on herself and grabbed one of the bottles.

"Maybe I should get this for her."

Sanan came up beside Yan and opened the bottle, saying, "Grassland scent?"

Before they knew it, they were in the grassland, not the drugstore.

It was a beautiful day, with a lovely breeze.


They saw a butterfly fluttering about.

Sanan started to chase it around.

Just as she was about to catch it, they found themselves at the drugstore again.

Yan said, "I think Hanan will like this perfume, because the planet she lives on doesn't have any grasslands."

Sanan looked happy with the idea too.

A butterfly that looked just like the one in the grassland flutters around behind them, but they don't notice it.

Yan took the perfume to the cashier and asked to have it gift-wrapped.

The shop assistant wrapped it with many ribbons.
