サナンとヤンのお話　⑤

オフィシャルLINE の中のタスクの１つの「プチ翻訳の部屋」で私が書いている

「サナンとヤン」という２匹の猫の出てくる童話です。

（数行ずつ童話が日本語で送られてくるので、それを翻訳してみるタスク。１日数行でいいので、英語を書こう！という意図あり。）

原文は日本語で配信しているのですが、英語で読んでみたい、という声をたくさんもらっているので、

英語の方を（Julia監修）シェアしています。

（ちなみに、書式は話のかたまりでまとめず、学習者用に１文ずつ分けて改行してみました。）

そして、イラストは私の友人が描いてくれていて、「地味カワイイ！」と人気です。

Sanan and Yan ～その５～

The turtle continued to drive at his own pace, but as they got closer to the airport, the roads got busier.

They got more and more worried.

"The traffic is getting heavy, so let's go by a different route," said the turtle, as he changed directions.

They drove through some narrow streets and ended up near the beach.

"The sea?" Yan and Sanan looked at each other.

The car dived into the water.

It didn't go that fast on land, but moved really fast in water.

They passed through coral reefs and drove alongside schools of fish.

They could even see a Dragon Castle in the distance.

Sanan and Yan were fascinated by the amazing scenes they
saw outside the window.

"It's time to go back to land," said the turtle.

The car floated up.

They saw the sandy beach in front of them.

Yan looked at her watch and was surprised.

"Only a few minutes have passed since we entered the sea.

I thought we were in water for about an hour."
