I've just got back from a trip to Oita last night. It was a long trip(took almost 4 hours from my house) but I had a wonderful time with zach. It was a pretty countryside as I expected but people were very kind! I met this old lady in the train to Inukai machi (where zach lives). We had a bit of conversation on the way... It was so nice of her to talk to me in the train because people usually don't do that in a big city. She said she lives with her husband and they make rice, vegetables and mushrooms every year. She told me how to make mushrooms, which was totally new thing for me. I really enjoyed having conversation with her.

I can't describe how wonderful it wasl to see zach again! I almost cried his name at Inukai station... His apartment was a kind of old but it had two rooms besides a dining room. It wasn't a tiny tiny room like most of the apartment in Japan..

We went to buy some dessert close to his apartment after had a dinner box. The store we went was very old and reminded me of the shop which was used to be close to my house. I liked to go there to buy ice cream after dinner when I was little. We ate ice crem on the bridge. There was a pretty river in Inukai machi and it made town's view special. It was very nice to have a cold ice cream on the riverside in the evening of summer. I don't know why but I felt nostalgia to Inukai machi.

Next day, we went shopping to Oita city. Zach got a new cellphone, iron and peanut butter and jelly! I thought it's funny that most Americans love peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I love it too, though... He got a really good deal for the cellphone at an electric store. The design of his phone was the same as mine! We went to a curry restaurant for luch. Zach had a katu curry(curry with pork cutlet) which he'd wanted to have for long time. I had humberger steak and fried shrimp. That was a good luch.

Summer festival was going on the main street so we got some fried chicken and fried squid there. That was yummy!

We had soooo fun time together! Oita city was not as big as Fukuoka city but everything was gathered in a small area so we could walk everywhere in the city. That was nice if you don't have a car. I'm gonna see him again next weekend because my father's going to drive there with me. can't wait!
