大杉先生のポッドキャスト「Cross-Cultural Seminar」の123回のタイトルが「名前の意味について」だったので、聞いてみました。
スーザンさんの名前がユリから来ているということで、へぇ～でした。 Behind the name でSusanを調べたら、English variant of SUSANNA。 さらに、SUSANNAを調べると This was derived from the Hebrew word (shoshan) meaning "lily" (in modern Hebrew this also means "rose") ヘブライ語でユリの意味だったんですね～。 Susanのキリル綴りはСусан →SUSANNA Bree: Derived from Irish br?gh meaning "power, high".
