1) if in doubt 決めかねるようなら This phrase, "if in doubt" and it's very similar phrase "when in doubt" are used a lot in English, either phrase is most often followed by either "don't" plus a verb or "ask." 2) When in doubt, don't capitalize. 大文字にしようか小文字にしようか迷ったときは小文字にしなさい。 3) a pilot project 試験的なプロジェクト "A pilot project" is one that is a tentative model. It might be used in the future if it goes well or it could be developed further if it seems to be a good start. The word "pilot" is used to mean sort of a tentative beginning. In the phrase, pilot light, it's a small flame that's constantly burning so that when you turn on your gas stove or when your water heater turns on, the main flame can easily start up to heat the water or turn on your stove. 4) put your finger on the info 情報をすぐに取り出せるようにしておく And "put your finger on something" means find it, get it immediately. 5) draw bead on ~に狙いをつける Draw a bead on something means take aim at it.
