1、 原級を使った比較
① ＜as＋原級＋as….＞　「….と同じくらい～」
　　This book is as interesting as that one.
　　「この本はあの本と同じくらいおもしろい。

② ＜not as（so）＋原級＋as….＞　「…ほど～ではない」
He doesn’t work as（so）hard as you.　
「彼はあなたほど熱心に働かない。」

③ ＜―times as＋原級＋as…＞　「…のー倍～」
This house is three times as large as that one.
「この家はあの家の3倍の広さです。」

④ ＜as＋原級＋as one can[possible]＞「できるだけ～」
Read as many books as you can [possible]/

2、 比較の慣用表現
① ＜A as well as B＞「BだけでなくAもまた、BはもちろんAも」
He gave me money as well as advice.
「彼は私に助言だけでなくおかねもくれました。」

② ＜比較級＋and＋比較級＞「だんだん～、ますます～」
The days are getting longer and longer.
「日がだんだん長くなってきています。」
　　
③ ＜no longer=not ~ any longer＞「もはや～でない、もう～しない」
You are no longer a child.
　　　　「あなたはもう子供ではない。」

④ ＜not ~ any more=no more＞「もう～ない」
I will not see him any more.

「もう彼には会わない。」

⑤ ＜at (the) most=not more than ~＞「せいぜい～、多くても～」
She is thirty years old at (the) most.
「彼女はせいぜい30歳くらいだ。」
＜at least＞「少なくとも、せめて」
He’ll stay here for at least two days.
「彼は少なくとも2日間はここに滞在するだろう。」

⑥ ＜The ＋比較級～、the ＋比較級…＞「～すればするほど、ますます….」
The older he grew, the weaker he became.
「彼は年を取ればとるほど、ますます身体が弱くなった。」
