Great to hear the news. I wasn't sure if they'd made contact, so I'm very happy. They're such a lovely family, but as with most people with children, they're very busy.

I laughed when you said it was hot in Sasayama. I have just come home from my friend's house, and we feel like today is our coldest day in ages, Perth winters are never that cold. Having said that it's 16°c 😂.

All is well here. Nothing new or exciting. I was going to have my friend who lives outside of Tokyo come visit at the end of July, but she's become unwell and has had to cancel.

I've started volunteering on Mondays, packing food boxes for people who don't have enough money for food. A charity called Oz Harvest, has an agreement with supermarkets, and they pick up food that's near or on its use by date (usually the supermarkets throw the food away although it's still ok), and they bring these to us, and we divide the food evenly between 17 families. It's great for the people, and it's great for the environment, as the food would have otherwise gone into landfill. I'm not sure if you have something similar in Japan. With the cost of living going up and up, more and more people are struggling to feed their families here.

First of all,I'll introduce this site.
One of the oldest temple in Japan.TOJI.（Kyoto）
Around 1000years ago,maybe more,OOYAMA we call is my village in Sasayama-city,
had some contacts with Toji.
Toji means east temple in Japanese.Now I tried to explain about historical issues,looking for WIKI and so on..but too difficult!! Please search SHO-EN age in Japan.
Anyway,TOJI and OOYAMA is good friend still now.😆
So,the eldest students of Ooyama primary school are invited every year by Toji.
＊＊o and ＊＊＊ka and ＊＊a will go to the excurtion to Toji next Friday.
Friday is my English class of them,,but we decided just yesterday that we can meet after 14days.
So I have to wait to open the packet until 19th of July.
If you could tell them, I'd appreciate it.
I suppose you're so active, and I empathise with you! In Japan, we call it a Food Drive or Food Bank.
I didn't know that your country also prices up and up??
Yen are going to cheap horribly in these month!
For instance, olive oil usually I buy 850en to 1580en!!!

Coffee powder for drip I could buy 699en to 453g, is now the same price to 280g.
OH! what I talking...🤩
Now in my house it is 28c. I'm feeling your country's wind.
