Dear Friends,

How are you?

Though it has been far too long since I have written you should know that you're often in my thoughts.

A few days ago Carol, Grant, and I watched a movie titled 'The Burmese Harp' (Biruma no Tategoto), filmed in 1956 and directed by Kon Ichikawa, starring Rentaro Mikuni. Do you know this movie? Have you seen it? The main character's name is Mizushima, a man who sees beauty and responsibility in the middle of madness and chaos. A very impressive, emotionally valid film that I enjoyed very much.

I have attached some photos of us taken this year. Please let me know if you are able to open them. If you can't, I'll send them by post.

For the past three years I have been working for an event planning company located in downtown San Francisco. My position is manager of air and registration services which keeps me very busy.

なつかしい友人から、和史と私にあてて、なつかしいメールがきた。和史はどうか知らないが、私はほんとうに久しぶりだったので、うれしかった。この青年は、その昔、我が家の幼い猫、アトムを追い回して、逃げ回ったアトムに反撃を食らった少年だった。それ以来、アトムは外国人が嫌いになる、そのトラウマの原因を作った悪がきだったのに、こんなに大きくなった。

マーク、もとハリウッドの端役の俳優だった彼、すごくいい感じで年とっている。奥さんのキャロルだけは昔と変わらないな。

来年は、アメリカで会いたいものだと思った。
