Munenori Harada, One of My Favorite Writers
I’ll let you know about Munenori Harada. He is one of Japanese writers, but he is not so famous. I don’t know why. But I always can’t read his books without laughing. Probably, you can’t also help laughing when reading. In his book, there are a lot of short stories. I think he is a gifted writer of short stories. Please let me introduce one of the stories to you. Its title is Why Do I Have Poor Eyes!? He has astigmatism, nearsightedness, and night blindness. This is why he has poor eyes. One day, he thought that he hugged a cat in his dark room night after his going to bed. But actually, it was not a cat. They were slippers! He was going to hug slippers. After his stupid mistake, he changed his cat’s name. His cat was named ‘slippers’. If he was wrong conversely more dangerous matter something. In other words, if he mistook a cat for the slippers and stepped, what was happened!? Actually we can guess what would happen. At last, he decided to put on glasses. But he didn’t want to put them on. The answer is clear. It was because that he wanted to be popular with girls. He refused to put them on strongly. Finally he decided that he wore contact lens. As that time, however, no one knew about the contact lens. Neither did he. He thought that the lens of the glasses would be put in his eyes. Obviously, it is impossible! But he didn’t know about that!! Seriously he was scared. But he thought that it is better than the glasses because of the silly reason. So, when he first saw contact lens, he was amazed and relieved very much. As I said before, I like his short stories very much. Of course the short stories written by him are very short. We can read them anywhere and anytime. I sometimes read them during toilet. I can read one of them completely. Also, there is another merit. When I read them, I use my abdominal muscles so that I can do the toilet work smoothly. Do you make sense what I mention? This is odd reason that I like his book. I think nobody read his book in the purpose of the work except me. Also, when I have nothing to do, I read his books with chuckling alone and feel tiny happiness. This is why, I like his books and I would like to carry his books anytime.
