school teachers
There are two teachers in baking course. One is from England, the other is from India. I don't like the Indian teacher. Heoften makes me stressed. First of all, his accent is very strongand sometimes it's hard to understand. Well, I'm getting usedto his accent, so it's OK. Second, he often says to me, "Genki?" because he knows some Japanese words and wants to use those words. That's fine. But actually, he calls me 'Genki'all the time these days. So one day I told him, "Excuse me, my name is not Genki.", and he said "I know, but it's easier." That made me really annoyed. Now he calls me 'GENKI' every time, well, the course started only few weeks ago, so students haven't remembered others' name yet. What happens if others think my name is 'Genki'? It will be a problem, won't it? I have to warn him again, it's really annoying. And third, the class the other day was terrible. We have class from 8:30 to 17:00. We had a lecture in the morning that day, which was almost just full of chat, we didn't learn much. In the afternoon, he suggested us an excursion to a hotel to observe OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety). While he was explainingeverything about the excursion, he implied that he was not coming with us. So, to make it sure, I asked him, "Aren't you coming with us?", he said, "Why am I coming with you? Do you want me to come? You are adults so you can do it byyourselves, cant't you?" Oh my god...So we went there by ourselves for a few hours, I don't know what he was doing while we were away. After we came back to the school, hetold us to do the report about the excursion on the computeruntil the class time finishes. WHAT?! For me, he seemsthat he doesn't want to be here or teach us but just killingthe time with doing something else. Actually, most of the students are not interested in baking but taking this coursejust to get a permanent residency. So they don't really want to study. Teachers know about it. One day, the teacherasked us what time we are supposed to finish the class. Some students said 4 o'clock because they wanted to go homeearlier. But a female student who is really interested in this course and I said, "No, we are supposed to study hereuntil 5 o'clock." But the teacher said, "No way, that's too long. I think it's 4 o'clock. I wanna go home earlier, too." WHAT?!!! We pay lot of money, so he should teach usproperly. I got really upset about it. The next day, I wentto see a school coordinater to talk about it. He said "it's not good. Teachers should go with students for excursionsduring the class time. They have responsibility to lookafter the students. And it is not acceptable to finish earlier. I will tell him about it. Tell me if something happens. We need some feedback." Good!! Actually, we are the first students in baking course, so everything is new. It's important to talk with school staffs to give themfeedback so that next new students can study in bettersituation. I hope everything will go OK.
