実を言うと、今回子供の学校活動が本当に大変で、 泣きたくなる位だった。
マーチングバンドだけでも大変なのに、ディベイト、メン トァー、そのうえ全国的に行われるテストの模擬クラスまで取ったので、朝早くから遅くまで お弁当もお昼や夕飯まで考えなくてはいけなかったし、学校の送 り迎えも日ごとに時間が違って、私のバンドリハーサルの時間と重なったり夫と二人で もう必死と言う感じでサポートしていた。
そしたら、こんなメールが学校から来た。我が家はマーティングバンドのボランティアはしなかったけど、アメリカの高校生の親は本当に大変で頭が下がるよ、、、(週末の練習とその後の試合時は 夕飯がメンバーの親のボランティアにより何時も出ていた）

Your support of your student--
from unending trips to and from campus
for rehearsals, early mornings and late nights,
juggling family time and stressing
over homework, grumpy wake-ups,
groggy conversations, nursing them
through illnesses and exhaustion,
and encouragement to your kids to
keep their commitments,
do their best and make it through...
all of that effort
has paid off in the best way.
The students and staff are elated at the
come-from-behind First Place finish in finals.
They really did perform for the glory of God,
they truly let their spirits fly
in their last performance.
Afterward, they were very gracious
to the students from the top school,
congratulating them on their
wonderful Sweepstakes performance.
They gave praise to God for giving them
strength and perserverance and such a
wonderful bond with each other.
This incredible experience for the students
and staff was only possible because of
all of you parents!
Thank you also for the innumerable hours of work
supporting our staff with transportation,
lighting, on-field activities, props,
uniforms, flags, sequined costumes,
and weekly prayer chains.
THANK YOU FOR FEEDING US SO WELL!
Hours and hours of shopping, cooking, prepping,
serving, hydrating, heavy-lifting, and, of course,
the never-ending CLEAN-UP!
The students were able to physically perform
their best on the healthy and delicious meals
you provided.
On this eve of Thanksgiving, we all want to
tell you how grateful we are to have
such a wonderful Band Family!

long weekend of rest, replenishment,
re-connecting and recreation!
