The first point the article makes is how nutritious and good for health about turkey meat is There are two kinds of turkey meats, white and dark, and white meat is much healthier than dark meat in terms of calories, protein, and total fat. And even dark turkey meats are much healthier than chicken.Secondly, the issue of cranberries is discussed. Cranberries include antioxidants that protect us from cell damage, and protect us against heart diseases. Thirdly, the report mentions that sweet potatoes and pumpkins are full of vitamin A and C, beta-carotene, and potassium. Beta-carotene is good for our immune system, and potassium makes our blood pressure stable. And pumpkin also contains fiber and pumpkin is low in fat and calories. This article also mention that pecan nuts. Pecan is good for heart, because it includes healthy monounsaturated fats which are good fats and these fats are known to lower levels of bad (LDL) cholesterol. Another point that is emphasized in this article is that those foods are nutritious and good for health when they are precooked, but that they tend to lose their good points by other foods cooked with them, such as food including a lot of sugar, butter and cream. Finally, this article says that one huge unhealthy meal sometimes isn’t going to kill anyone. But we should not make it a habit. In summary, most of the foods for Thanksgiving Day are good for health, but depending on how to cook them, they may become unhealthy. This report finally states that we should not make this feast a habit. Eating a lot occasionally is not that bad, but making it a habit is too bad for our health. It means that people tend to eat too much on Thanksgiving Day, and it continues for a month. Even on Thanksgiving Day, we should not eat a lot and that is a key for a healthy life. というわけで、たまにご馳走を食べるのは悪いことではないし、調理の仕方によっては健康的な食事であるとのことですが、たらふく食べることを習慣にしてしまうといけないそうです。感謝祭でたらふく食べる習慣がついてしまうと、それが1ヶ月も続くことがあるそうで、感謝祭の時にもあまり食べ過ぎないことが大事だそうです。日本はこれから忘年会にクリスマスにお正月ですね。気をつけなければ~!
