この週末は3連休だったにも関わらず...
台風だの、大型地震だのと天災の尽きない連休でした。
台風はたまにしかこないし、天気予報からでも予測はつくけれど...
地震だけは予知不能な不可抗力の天災。
最近では今までなかった土地にまで地震が直撃するという始末。
私達が現在住む街も昔から地震が少ないと言われている土地だ。
それがゆえに防災対策が甘い県であるとも言われている。
何気ないことかもしれないけれど、日々の防災に対する危機感が
自分達の生命を最終的には左右するのかな？！とテレビを観ながら
痛感しました。
そして地震大国日本に住んでいる以上、これは他人事ではまったくない
という事も改めて思いました。
明日はもしかしたら私の住む街、いや貴方の住む街で起こりえる話しです。
現在被災されている方々、心身共に疲れもピークに達し始めていることでしょう。
でも、希望を捨てずに頑張って下さいね。
そして、この地震で命を落とされた方々、心からご冥福をお祈りします。

Although it was 3 days weekend, there was a typhoon and a big earthquake.
It was a weekend with endless natural disasters.
Typhoon only comes every once in a while and it's relatively
predictable, too.
But earthquakes are unpredictable and there's nothing we, humans
can do about it.
Earthquakes nowadays occur at lands known to not have any earthquakes.
The area where we live now is known to not have any earthquakes for
a long time.
That is why the prefecture that we live now is known to have a very
weak networks and supplies for natural disaters.
As I watched the TV last night, I thought maybe our own individual
attitudes toward natural disasters may be the key to saving our own lives.
I also thought that as long as we live in a country called Japan, where
earthquakes occur often, this news isn't just someone else's news.
It could happen to all of us including me and you!
People who are now in a refugee camps must be facing the peaks of tiredness
both physically and mentally. I hope you won't let all your hopes go away.
For people who lost their lives in this earthquakes, I pray for you all.
