3日目の17日は、これまた初乗車の阿武隈急行線へ。
作並駅から仙山線・東北本線を乗り継いで、阿武隈急行線との乗換駅である槻木駅へ。
停車していた車両は、AB900系電車AB-7編成。AB900系はJR東日本E721系電車の兄弟車で、2019（令和元）年にデビューした。
AB900系は編成ごとに車体色が違い、AB-7編成は緑色のラッピングを纏う。
阿武隈急行線は、1986（昭和61）年に丸森線（槻木駅〜丸森駅間）が当時の国鉄から阿武隈急行に移管されて開業した。1988（昭和63）年に丸森駅〜福島駅間が延伸開業して、全線開通となった。基本的には自社線内で完結する普通列車が主体だが、本数は少ないものの、JR東日本東北本線へ乗り入れ、仙台駅～梁川駅間を運行する列車もある。
槻木駅を発車した列車は、しばらく東北本線と並走し、白石川橋梁を渡り終えたあたりから同線と分かれる。
車窓からは田畑の緑が美しい田園風景が広がる。

主要駅の1つ、角田駅では槻木行きの列車とすれ違いを行った。車両は黄色ラッピングのAB-3編成。
南角田駅〜北丸森駅間 田園風景の中を走る列車 The view between Minami-kakuda Station and Kita-marumori Station
丸森駅以南の区間は1988（昭和63）年に阿武隈急行線の延伸区間として開業した。ここから富野駅付近までは、路線名の由来となった阿武隈川を進行方向右側に見ながら走る谷間の区間。大小さまざまなトンネルも多い。
あぶくま駅〜兜駅間の長いトンネルを抜けるとすぐ宮城県から福島県へ。

僕は行きたいところがあるため、一旦やながわ希望の森公園前駅で途中下車した。
On the third day, September 17th, I travelled on Abukuma Express Line.
From Sakunami Station, I came to Tsukinoki Station, the start station of Abukuma Express Line, via Senzan Line and Tohoku Main Line.
The train I boarded from Tsukinoki was AB900 Series AB-7 set. Each AB900 Series set has a different body livery. AB-7 set does the green one.
Abukuma Express operator took over the train operation on Marumori Line (Tsukinoki Station - Marumori Station) from Japan National Railway in 1986 and changed the line's name to Abukuma Kyuko Line. The line was extended two years later to Fukushima Station via Yanagawa Station.
The trains on Abukuma Express Line mainly operate from the start to the end or the middle station, but some trains go to Sendai Station via Tohoku Main Line.
The railway spreads in parallel with Tohoku Main Line from Tsukinoki Station, but it separates near the end of a bridge over Shiroishi River.
From the train window, I could see the agricultural fields and mountains.
The train waited for an opposite-bound train at Kakuda Station. The opposite-bound train was AB-3 with a yellow livery.
From Marumori Station, the railway spreads in the valley along Abukuma River and has many tunnels. Soon After outing a long tunnel between Abukuma Station and Kabuto Station, the train came to Fukushima Prefecture.
I got off the train at Yanagawa-kibonomori-koenmae [Yanagawa Kibo no Mori Park] Station because I wanted to go somewhere near it.
