花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

4日目の18日は、仙台市地下鉄東西線からスタート。

大町西公園駅すぐ近くの西公園から広瀬川橋梁を渡る東西線の列車を撮影。東西線は横浜市営地下鉄グリーンラインに次ぐ、日本で2番目の地上・高架区間の営業線があるリニアメトロ路線である。大町西公園駅～国際センター駅間の広瀬川橋梁は、両岸に撮影スポットがあり、線路を見下ろす構図で走行中の列車を撮影できる。



僕は緑濃き山や木々を背景にした「杜の都・仙台」「"The Greenest City"・仙台」らしい1枚を撮影。

撮影後は大町西公園駅から東西線に初乗車。



いったん八木山動物公園駅まで向かう。



終点の八木山動物公園駅は標高136.4mに位置し、仙台市地下鉄の駅では標高が一番高い。2020（令和2）年までは日本一標高の高い地下鉄の駅だったが、同年に北神急行電鉄から神戸市交通局へ移管された北神線の谷上駅が日本一となっている。

ここから荒井行き列車に乗車。

八木山動物公園駅～青葉山駅間にも高架区間があり、将来開通予定の道路・川内旗立線との鉄道道路併用橋として、広瀬川の支流沿いに広がる竜の口渓谷に架橋された竜の口橋梁である。付近は八木山ベニーランドの駐車場となっており、地上から列車が走る姿は見づらい。

広瀬川橋梁を渡る On a bridge crossing Hirose River

終点である荒井駅まで完乗した。

東西線は2015（平成27）年に開業したため、前回仙台へ行った時にはまだ建設中だった。開業以降、しばらく仙台へ行く機会がなかったため、開業から9年が経ってようやく東西線への初乗車が実現した。


On the fourth day, September 18th, my travel started from Sendai Subway Tozai Line.

First, I photographed the train on a bridge crossing Hirose River from West Park near Omachi Nishi-koen [Omachi West Park] Station. Tozai Line is the second linear-motor-driven subway with open-air (ground or elevated) sections, following Yokohama Municipal Subway Green Line.

From the park, the train on the bridge could be seen down.

I shot a photo featuring the train surrounded by greenish trees and mountains to create the atmosphere of “The Greenest City”.

After photographing, I tried my first boarding on Tozai Line. I went to Yagiyama Zoological Park terminal once.

Yagiyama Zoological Park Station is the highest subway station among Sendai City Subway (136.4 metre/447.5 feet above sea level). It was the highest in Japan until 2020, but Tanigami Station on Kobe Municipal Subway Hokushin Line is because of the takeover of Hokushin Line from Hokushin Kyuko Railway.

From there, I travelled to Arai terminal.

Between Yagiyama Zoological Park Station and Aobayama Station, the train crossed a double-layered bridge over Tatsunokuchi Canyon (Tatsunokuchi Bridge). The train runs on the lower layer and its upper layer is the planned site for a new roadway.

The bright part in the fourth photograph is on the bridge.

When the train stopped at International Center Station, I photographed an opposite-bound train over the front window.

I got off the train at Arai terminal, which made me board an entire section on Tozai Line.

My last visit to Sendai was in 2012, before Tozai Line's opening. Because Tozai Line opened in 2015, I hadn't boarded the train. I had wanted to board the train and realised my dream 9 years after its opening.
