世界大不同　　　

鈴木メソッドミュージックスクールの校長先生からメールが届きました。
ホームステイ中の生徒さんからたくさんのEメールが届いているそうです。
皆、とても楽しい時をホストファミリーと過ごしているということ、とても大きな影響を受けていること、生徒とホストファミリーとの交流がこれからも続くことを願う、という内容でした。

彼らのブログに毎日、メッセージが書き込まれており、彼らのホームステイの様子が伝わってきます。

この校長先生、ミュージックスクールの校長だけでなく、大学の経済学の教授、そして2人のお子さんのお母さんだそうです。Eメールのやりとりからも彼女の素敵な人間性を感じていたのですが、スーパーウーマンのようです。


Dear Sumire:

I am so glad that you are enjoying the wonderful work that you are doing -despite the incredible hours that I know you must put in dealing with all of the groups when they arrive, etc.

I know that you are just so incredibly supportive and helpful (and able to work miracles) and there is a tendency to simply ask you to solve problems - "I'm sure Sumire can help"!!! - which must make the workload associated with your position quite overwhelming.

Also - I wanted to let you know that we have had nothing except ECSTATIC e-mails and phone calls from the students.

They are absolutely ENCHANTED with their host families and have emphasized over and over again to their parents how gracious and hospitable they are and how much joy they are taking in getting to know them as a family.

Truly, I believe that many lives are being touched by this wonderful opportunity for Canadians and Japanese to get to know each other better, and I hope with all my heart that some day soon we will be able to welcome families from Seto (especially you, of course!) to Ottawa. (I know already that many of the students in our group are anxious to return again to Japan as soon as possible ;-)).
