on cloud nine　（嬉しくて）浮き浮きしている
この表現、語源はいろいろあるようです。
be in seventh heaven(有頂天になっている)からbe on cloud sevenという表現が生まれ、cloud nineのほうがcloud sevenよりも数字の上では位が上だという言葉遊びから、パイロットたちの間でon cloud nineという言い方がはやりだし、それが一般にも広がって、今日のように慣用句として定着した。
