Pride & Prejudice
A few days ago, my English language school teacher told me, "your accent in English is a mixture of some countries. Yours is sometimes based on British, and basically American and Canadian accent".I was not surprized at his comment. Once I was living in London as a language shool student and so was in Halifax, Canada. Now I am working with some American and British collegues.However, the strongest reason made my accent a strange mixture, is TV dramas and movies. I am easily influenced by dramas I recently watched.Now I am just watching a famous BBC costume play drama "Pride and Prejudice", based on the famous romantic story by Jane Austin. This brings back of my memories staying in London. The drama was so popular that almost all ladies including me did not move away from the telly when it was on the air in Britain about ten years ago! Anyway, I might have noble, dramatic and graceful Victorian accent 2 hours later!!
