The place where we met at 13:00 is in the middle of the mountain road leading to Irozaki called the "Soun Kyou Line", which is on the left side from a little off the Shimogamo Onsen. It comes out when you enter "Kano Densetsu" on your smartphone. These days, there are some useful things, so I don't ask for detailed directions or prepare a map. After running for about 5 minutes, a light truck is parked just past the sharp curve on the mountain road. Light trucks are a must when you come to the countryside. You can enter the mountains, the sea, the fields, and even the narrow roads, and even commute to work, there is one in the family. The guide who was waiting was a kind woman about 70 years old. This tour can be attended by 2 people, and the price is as high as 3500 yen per person including insurance, drinks and guide materials, and 2500 yen for 4 or more people, but since it is a privately owned mountain, maintenance cooperation fee is included. This time, the local discount was 500 yen off to 3000 yen, but it's a little expensive.「カノー伝説ツアー」とは昔の石切り場跡を見学することだが、個人所有の山なので勝手に入ることはできず、ガイド付きのツアーとなっている。 The "Kano Legend Tour" is a tour of the ruins of an old stone quarry, but since it is a privately owned mountain, it cannot be entered without permission, and it is a guided tour. While leaving the car and listening to the guide, walk into the mountains for about 10 minutes on the hand-made stairs from the tightly locked entrance. The mountain roads with fallen leaves are slippery in the fall, so I would like to bring comfortable shoes, work gloves, and long sleeves and long pants. The guide turned back here and said that she was waiting near the exit, so I started taking a walk for about an hour. This tree is a very hard tree called "Ubamegashi" and is also a raw material for Bincho charcoal, which is a good quality charcoal. The charcoal grill used in the Edo period remains nearby. As I have learned as a Geopark Level 2 holder, there are many quarries where good quality stones are calculated from Odawara to the coastal area of the Izu Peninsula, and they are transported to Edo by sea from a nearby port to build Edo Castle and townscapes. It was used as a material. Most of the stones in the Higashiizu area are hard andesite, but relatively soft tuff was produced in the Shimoda and Minamiizu areas. There was a steep slope on the mountain surface on the way, and there was a place where it was slippery and traveled along the rope. I could see a place like a quarry that was artificially scraped from between the vines and leaves. This is just the beginning and there is still a long way to go.「石切り場中」との道標が出てきた。A signpost saying "in the quarry" came out.
